Katie, aged 16

One day it hit me -what would my dad say if he saw me doing this? Then I realized my father would not want me to mope around and cry, he would want me to go on with life.

A few months ago my father went in for a physical and they said he was perfectly healthy. I saw that as a good sign. See, his back had been bothering him for some time and I was worried about it. So then one day while I was in band class my sister came and picked me up and said we have to head to the hospital. I did, and three days later my father was dead. It was all such a blur but they said he had an aneurysm burst and then a bleed on the brain and he also contracted pneumonia. From then on I didn't know what to do, so all I did was walk around and cry. But then one day it hit me -what would my dad say if he saw me doing this? Then I realized my father would not want me to mope around and cry, he would want me to go on with life. So that's what I plan on doing, and although it's hard, I have found that with the support of my mom and my sisters I can make it through. So all I can say is thank you to everyone and I luv you and miss u daddy!!!!!
