  • Brainpop is a website for teens. It has a health section that looks at cancer as well as other health issues. It has a pop quiz and movie about cancer. USA.

  • The BBC health site looks at all aspects of health and healthy living, including relationships, food, exercise and medical conditions. UK.

  • The Teenage Health Freak website has two doctors who specialise in teenage health issues. There is a surgery where you can e-mail health concerns and ask those questions you would never dare ask face to face, an A-Z of health, and a daily diary by Pete, a teenage health freak! UK.

  • KidsHealth provides doctor-approved health information about children from before birth through to adolescence. KidsHealth has separate areas for kids, teens, and parents - each with its own design, age-appropriate content, and tone. USA

  • The Surgery Door is a health website that looks at healthy living and illnesses. It has a section for teenagers that looks at alcohol, drugs and teenage illnesses like meningitis. UK.

  • Youth Health Talk is a website produced by the DIPEx charity, containing a collection of interviews with young people about their experiences of health or illness. They tell you what it’s really like! The site aims to identify the issues, questions and problems that matter to young people.

  • Need2know is a teenage health and education site. It mentions cancer in relation to smoking and sun safety. UK.

  • The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has a section on their website called Sunsense. Sunsense helps you understand sun radiation, the damage it can do to your skin and the risks of skin cancer. It gives you tips on how to stay safe in the sun. UK

  • Children First for Health is a site run by Great Ormond Street Hospital, designed to provide general health information for young people and families. The site includes a section for 12-18 year olds packed with features, advice, video diaries and information on health conditions and issues. Readers can also post questions anonymously to the ‘Dear Doc’ and ‘agony column’ experts. There is a section on cancer and the associated tests and treatments, and readers can look at the real life stories of people in a similar situation to themselves.
