Smoking ban in cars carrying children

Should there be a law preventing people from smoking in cars that are carrying children or should it be up to parents and other adults to decide what they want to do? What do you think?

The Labour party has proposed to ban smoking in cars where there are children and this has raised a debate about whether it is right that politicians should take on such a ‘parental role’. Those in favour argue that such a ban is about protecting children but those opposing it claim that although smoking in cars where children are present is a stupid thing to do, there should not be a law about it.
