My mum was diagnosed with cancer in November last year. At 42, it was way too young we thought. She spent Christmas day on the sofa unaware as to what was happening because of the drugs she was taking for her frozen shoulder, which came after the mammogram. She had a full mastectomy and is about to have surgery for her shoulder.
She has been so strong about this and is keen to put it all behind her. The staff at the hospital have been great, and have really supported her. Treatment is so good nowadays, we are lucky that they found it and that she survived
