Forum

You are not alone...

You may feel lonely, but you are not alone. There are many out there going through similar situations, thinking the same thoughts, wondering about the same questions and worrying about the same things.

This forum is your place to support each other and say what you really think and feel. Even if you don't feel up to sharing your own feelings right now, you can still have a look at what others are thinking and you can share your own thoughts if and when you feel like it. Because teenagers whose parents have cancer are not part of a large group, there may be times when the forum is rather quiet and you may not get a reply to your message. Remember that you can always get in touch with us at riprap if you would like to ask a question or seek more private support from us. You can also read/share experiences in our stories section.

Because this is a site about serious things in life and is used by young people, we are looking through all messages before we publish them. We do this to keep the site clean of inappropriate messages and to make sure that no one accidentally gives away personal or confidential information about themselves or family members. You do not need to register in order to read or post messages in the forum.

Please note that as of 1 September 2017, riprap has no funding and is being run on a voluntary basis by the specialist cancer nurse who has managed the website since its launch in 2003. This means there may be a slight delay in publishing forum posts.
